Monster trucks are a kid and adult favorite and every year the Virginia Giant takes on a new victim crushing the tiny cars below it. The Ride Truck runs all weekend and is always full of smiling faces. One of them should be yours (oh, your kids can be with you too)! After each monster truck show the drivers have meet & greets so you and the little ones can get up close to the giant trucks and their drivers with giant personalities. Rats it is! Last year, we let our valued guests to the Truck Nationals decide whether the Building Y invitational truck display would feature hot rod trucks or rat rod trucks and the count came in and the Rats took it. These guys had fun last year and we are excited to see what they can do with the building and display. They have lined up a real treat for lovers of Rat Rods. The Carlisle Truck Nationals showfield is at the center of the truck action and is host to one of the largest pure truck show-n-shine events in the country. Whether you are climbing to the sky in a monster lifted 4x4, scraping the ground in a fully customized mini or turning back the hands of time in a perfectly restored classic, you’ll see them all in Carlisle, on both the judged and non-judged showfields. Compete on the judged showfield to put your truck up against some the best in the world. The not-for-profit American Truck Historical Society was formed in 1971 to preserve the history of trucks, the trucking industry, and its pioneers. ATHS has over 21,000 members in the United States, Australia, Canada, and 20 other countries worldwide. The Carlisle Truck Nationals Truck Tug-O-War pits two trucks head to head, to see who has the power to pull who. The Tug-O-War is certainly one of the many events you won’t want to miss. Sign-up for the Truck Tug-O-War, with both gas and diesel classes, to see if you and your truck are up to the challenge. Last year’s winner, Alan Williams, won both classes with his two Dodges; we want to see some Built Ford Tough and Like a Rock challengers to threaten Alan’s crown in 2010!

The crew from Rausch Creek will be hosting rock crawling throughout the weekend. A new wall and a new track will be on hand as these off road experts show how to get it done.

Are you thinking about getting off the road in that truck, jeep or 4x4, but didn’t know where to start? Rausch Creek Off Road Park and the crew will be offering general off road and rock crawling techniques at OFF ROAD 101! The experts from the Mid-Atlantics premier off road part will talk you through and walk you through all the things you need to know to get started. No Carlisle event would be complete without the burnout contest. “Carlisle King (or Queen) of the Hill” bragging rights are up for grabs at the Carlisle Truck Nationals. Pre-registration is required at Guest Services. A show sticker (i.e. registered for vending or showfield), driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. Limited to 10 vehicles, 3 minutes each.

Want to challenge your skills on a vertical rock wall?

• Monster Rock Wall

You want it loud? Carlisle Truck Nationals is where to be August 6-8 to experience dB Drag Racing, Bass Race and Psychlone – three of the premier formats for SPL (Sound Pressure League) competitions.

Carlisle Truck Nationals will have all three thumping throughout the weekend. dB Drags pose two vehicles head-to-head, to see who has the loudest stereo. Bass Race is a stereo competition where competitors play commercially available music for 30 seconds and are given an average SPL score that places the competitor in one of six classes. New this year, the Psychlone audio competition is a format designed to capture the original excitement of a great sounding aftermarket car stereo installation. Each contestant's sound system is scored based on how loud it will play (SPL), the frequency response of the system (RTA), and installation quality.

The Miss Truck Nationals competition takes places on Saturday along with the other fantastic Saturday evening stage activities, on the Carlisle Stage. Contestants will answer questions about why they love trucks and why they should be Miss Carlisle Truck Nationals. Contestants compete for cash prizes. Ladies can register at the Guest Services trailer by the stage Friday and Saturday prior to the event. Participation is limited to 15 contestants. PLEASE NOTE: We have implemented new rules and created a new format for All-Truck Nationals 2010. Download the latest registration form for details.

Saturday night the Mini Trucks take over by lighting up the Carlisle night skies with white sparks from the titanium blocks. If you like’em low and laid out, you certainly don’t want to miss the Saturday night frame dragging.
