When you pre-register, you…:
Save time. Beat the deadline and we will mail your window sticker to your address of record in advance of the event. When you get to the show, enjoy the VIP treatment of driving straight to Gate 3. No matter how long the lines of people are at the Showfield Registration area, you won’t need to stop there. Rather, once you drive through the main gate, you will be guided straight to the designated parking area.
Save money. When you pre-register, you save $10. That’s more of your hard-earned money back in your wallet.
You deserve the preferential treatment. So don’t wait -- pre-register today! The April 19, 2010 deadline will be here before you know it.

Find classic to late-model imported vehicles in all varieties of make, model and condition. You can shop, compare and make the deal directly with the owner. Notary services including temporary tags are available in the car corral. All vehicles in the corral must be for sale, in running condition and cannot be displayed on trailers. Giveaway Car Presented by Carlisle Events on Sunday
Be at the Stage/Grandstand on Sunday at 3 p.m. for your chance to win this red 1992 Volkswagen Cabriolet. All of the factory equipment is still present including the AM/FM cassette and VDO gauges. This VW also has power windows and a driver’s side air bag. It’s powered by a 1.8 liter four cylinder with a 5-speed manual transmission. To be eligible to win, you must be present with your giveaway ticket. After the number is called, the individual with that ticket will have ten minutes to present their ticket at the Stage. Giveaway tickets are distributed at the gates on Sunday only. No purchase necessary.

Building Y will house eight rare BMWs from the collection of Ed Ullom of CVM Autopark. Ed’s cars include a 1974 BMW 2002 Turbo, 1980 M1, 2001 Z8, 1980 Z1 and more! Also in Building Y will be an assortment of new, high-end German cars courtesy of Sun Motorcars along with several beautiful, privately-owned classics. You won’t want to miss the Invitational Display in Building Y.

VINTAGE IMPORT MOTORCYCLES WELCOME
Bring Your 1979 or Older Import Bike to Carlisle
Last year, we held the very first ever vintage motorcycle display inside Building R. We filled the space with bikes from the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC), in conjunction with the Japanese theme for 2009. The display was a crowd favorite and fit perfectly with the cars and atmosphere of the event. Look for the vintage motorcycle display and show area to grow this year. A special parking area will be available on the IKR Showfield for all vintage bikes. If you have a 1979 or older Yamaha, BSA, Honda, BMW or other import bike, join over 1,000 import cars at IKR. The swap meet offers anything and everything an import and kit automotive enthusiast could want. Interested vendors must be selling automotive merchandise or at least an 80/20% mix. In addition, no T-shirts, clothing, wax, tools, diecast, models or food will be accepted. Spaces are approximately 10’ frontage x 30’ depth and rent for $70 per outside space for the entire event. The IK Nationals Race Car Paddock is a highlight area of the Showfield, located just inside of Gate 3. The Race Car Paddock is reserved exclusively for imports and kits that are set up for racing. All race cars are eligible – from road racers and autocross to drag and rally cars. Show off your race car and hang out with fellow drivers and race enthusiasts in this featured area. ATTENTION CAR CLUBS – COMPETE TO SEE WHO IS THE LARGEST
Will Your Club Measure Up? Take the Club Challenge
The Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals has long been home to many car clubs with some using the event as the host to their national meets. We recognize the largest clubs at the awards ceremony on Sunday. Awards are presented to the three (3) largest clubs (based on the number of registered show vehicles).
Clubs that register a minimum of 25 vehicles are eligible to receive the use of a 20’ X 20’ tent for the weekend at no charge. These tents make a great location for the club headquarters and the ideal place to hang out and socialize. Larger clubs are eligible for larger tents – call Val at (717) 243-7855 for more details.

MEET BRUCE MEYERS
The Father of the Modern Day Dune Buggy
This year’s special guest for the Kit side of the Import & Kit Nationals is Bruce Meyers, father of the modern day Dune Buggy. During this year's Import & Kit Nationals event, be sure to come out and meet Bruce and get an autograph.

In 2009, Bruce brought the first Meyers Manx Kick Out to the show for its East Coast debut and along with John Denmat conducted the final assembly of the very first Manx Kick Out SS – here at the event!!
Meyers has a long history with Dune Buggies, dating back to the original water pumpers of Southern California. Meyers took it upon himself to re-design the crude, heavy vehicles into the lightweight version that we are accustomed to today. After being featured on the cover of national automotive magazines like Hot Rod and Car and Driver, The Meyers Manx’s popularity took off across the country. Over the years, Meyers produced over 7,000 kits stemming from the Manx.

We’ll provide directions that will allow show participants to take a self-guided tour of south central Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon. The tour will include beautiful views of the mountains of the Cumberland Valley and several area covered bridges!

WHO HAS THE COOLEST CLUB HANGOUT?
Finally, a Contest Where Everyone Wins
Clubs that receive a Carlisle Events’ supplied tent are encouraged to participate in the Coolest Club Hangout competition. There aren’t any official rules and the process is simple: just decorate your tent in a manner that would make the Carlisle staff want to hangout with your club for the weekend. Colorful displays, cool banners and people having lots of fun always attract our attention. The winning club will be awarded a banner that can be proudly displayed on your tent for the weekend letting everyone know where the place to be is!

ON-SITE AUTOCROSS TRACK
Take Some Laps on the SCCA Six-Turn Mini Road Course
Don’t just sit in a lawn chair all weekend; show us what your car can do by taking your turn on our on-site autocross track! The autocross track is located in the North Field. The track has the feel of a road course and features six turns as well as elevation changes. Be sure to sign up early, before it’s sold out. If you’re not ready to get behind the wheel we offer a viewing deck above the track where you can safely watch the action. If you have any questions or want to learn more about autocross competition, members of the Susquehanna Region of the SCCA and its chapter club, the Appalachian Sports Car Club, will be on-hand all weekend.

TEN VEHICLES WILL BE HAND-SELECTED BY CARLISLE EVENTS
Be Chosen as a Member of the Carlisle Elite on Friday
We will be roaming the IK Nationals Showfield on Friday in search of their ten favorite vehicles to become the newest members of the Carlisle Elite. To be picked for the Carlisle Elite, your car doesn’t have to be rare or a high dollar, professional restoration. In fact, the only real criterion is that it catches our collective eye. Make sure your car is registered and parked on the Showfield on Friday to be eligible.

STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE JUDGING
Vehicles compete against a 100-point judging sheet
For those of you, who have taken your car to the next level and want validation for that effort, make sure to enter the Standard of Excellence Judging. Owners compete against a set of criteria on the judging sheets rather than against other vehicles. Our qualified judging team consists of knowledgeable automotive enthusiasts and industry professionals. Classes are available for imports, kits and unrestored originals.

Mobile Chassis Dyno Provided by Axcelerated Motorsports
Axcelerated Motorsports is the official Dyno of Carlisle Events. Axcelerated provides mobile Dyno tuning for cars and trucks using their Dynojet 248 chassis dynamometer. Their wide band O2 monitoring will determine if all that precious fuel is making power or just being wasted out the tailpipes.

SEMINARS, TUNE UP YOUR AUTOMOTIVE KNOWLEDGE
Instructional and Informational Sessions
While you’re here at the IK Nats, tune up your automotive knowledge with free seminars taking place all weekend and open to all show attendees. Sessions are available for import and kit owners. Previous topics have ranged from power tuning to building an entire kit car. Seminars are typically informal with plenty of opportunities for interaction with the seminar presenters. All presenters are very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise and most are available during the weekend for further discussion. A complete list of seminars will be available on the web site a few weeks before the show; don’t forget to check back for updates.

IMPORT & KIT NATIONALS IS FUN FOR THE ENTIRE
Enjoy the Kids at Carlisle Activity Center
The Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals is fun for the entire family and we have not forgotten the kids. On Saturday, the Kids at Carlisle Activity Center Area will have crafts and games for kids and parents to enjoy together. Don’t miss appearances by Carlisle Events mascots Max and Mandy the Mechanic, who will visit the kid’s area periodically throughout the day. We also have lots of play activities that we think will “wow” the young ones. Come and check it out!
